Privacy Policy for Cloud Sketches

This Privacy Policy describes how Krithi Nalla ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our mobile application, Cloud Sketches (the "App").

Your privacy is critically important to us. Our goal is to be transparent about the data we collect and to use that data only to provide and improve the App's unique experience.

1. Information We Collect

To provide the core functionality of Cloud Sketches, we collect the following types of information:

a) Information You Provide Directly to Us:
  • Photos: When you use the App to capture an image of a cloud, that photo is processed to serve as your drawing canvas.
  • Sketches and Titles: The drawings you create on top of your photos and any titles you give them are saved within the App.

b) Information We Collect Automatically with Your Permission:
  • Geolocation Data: With your explicit consent, we access your device's precise location (latitude and longitude). We do not track your location continuously; it is accessed only at the time you create a sketch to fetch relevant atmospheric data.
  • Atmospheric Data: Based on your location, we retrieve corresponding weather information, such as temperature and wind speed, from a third-party weather service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the sole purpose of providing and enhancing the features of the App:
  • To Create Your Canvas: Your photos are used as the background for you to draw upon.
  • To Power the Learning Experience: Your photo, along with your location-based atmospheric data, is used to identify the cloud type and generate a relevant, curiosity-driven question.
  • To Store Your Creations: Your sketches and their titles are saved locally in your personal gallery within the App for you to view and manage.
  • To Improve the App: We may use anonymized and aggregated data about feature usage to understand how to improve the App's functionality and user experience.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information with third-party service providers as necessary to operate the App’s core features. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • AI Service Providers (e.g., Google Vision & Gemini APIs): To identify the cloud type and generate educational questions, we send the photo you have taken to a third-party AI service for analysis. The image is used solely for this analysis and is subject to the service provider's privacy policy.
  • Weather Data Providers: We send your geolocation coordinates to a third-party weather service to retrieve atmospheric data.

These third parties are prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than to provide these specific services to us. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Your photos, sketches, and titles are stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store your personal gallery on our servers. This means that if you delete the App from your device, your sketches will be permanently removed.

Information sent to our third-party service providers for analysis (like photos for cloud identification) is subject to their respective data retention policies.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Because your data is stored locally, you have direct control over it.
  • Access and Deletion: You can access and delete any of your sketches at any time from within the App's gallery.
  • Location Services: You can enable or disable location services for the App at any time through your device's settings. Please note that disabling location services will prevent the AI learning features from functioning.
  • Uninstall: You can uninstall the App at any time to permanently remove all of your locally stored data.

6. Children's Privacy

Cloud Sketches is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will take steps to remove such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means so you can review the changes before you continue to use Cloud Sketches. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated policy will constitute your acceptance of the changes.
